Simple Way to Support Our Troops [with Coffee]

I was trying to come up with something interesting for today's "Friday Find" so I casually asked my husband what I should write about (not expecting much of an answer).  He immediately came up with the idea to talk a little bit about Green Beans Coffee and how it is an easy and inexpensive way to support our troops.

When our troops deploy, they are many times experiencing uncomfortable living conditions, they are working odd hours, and of course, there is usually some aspect of danger involved with their jobs.  Somethings as simple as a cup of coffee can really change their perspective on the day.

So let me tell you a little bit about how Green Beans Coffee works.  You have two different options:

  • If you know YOUR service member is going to a base with a Green Beans Coffee location, you can purchase a gift card for him or her to use on coffee for themselves.
  • Or, if you'd like ANY service member to receive a personal note of thanks plus a cup of coffee for as little as $2.

There are Green Bean Coffee locations in many countries including: Afghanistan, Africa, Iraq, Japan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, & the United Arab Emirates.  They also have locations at several military bases in the United States.  For a complete list, look here.

My husband has been fortunate enough to receive many cups of coffee through this program on his deployments.  Every single time he is incredibly grateful to receive a little cup of normalcy.

Not only does Green Bean Coffee help to offer a premium coffee to our military, but for every transaction that is made (online and at all of their locations), they donate a portion to charities that help military families and children of the fallen.

So if you're looking for a great place to put the extra change in your pocket, consider buying a cup of coffee for a soldier.

Have a wonderful & safe weekend!
Janice
